We arrived just as they were opening and purchased two tickets, along with the complimentary audio guide. Why doesn't every museum do this?!
The first exhibit we saw was the largest hall dedicated to Richard Serra's interactive steel sculptures. We were struck by the magnitude and cleverness of a single material and shapes that created such power in altering a person's spacial perceptions.
This is a photo as you enter the gallery.

These are scale models (1" to 1') of the sculptures we walked.

This is a view from above of the gallery.

We spent quite awhile wandering through his work.
After a quick coffee break, we also visited the other floors that showcased many other artists, including some of Richard Serra's other pieces.
We stood on the outdoor patio for awhile, appreciating our surroundings.

On our way out, we couldn't help but photograph the "Bilbao Pup," who guards the museum.

He's covered in flowers!
We had lunch in our room. Relaxed a little and then walked another part of the city for awhile, once again ending up in the old town. There we enjoyed a few pintxos. Later, we headed back to the hotel, making our way there along the riverbank. Of course, we couldn't surpass the Guggenheim without waiting for the fire fountains to light up.
