Went for a run this morning along the sea. Enjoyed a croissant and baguette in our room, then set out for España around 10am. We wound our way down the coastline, over the border and into a small town, Cadaques, recommended by Vincent and home of Salvador Dali. There, we ate lunch overlooking the small bay. All the houses perched on the shore were brillant white with sky blue shutters. Incredibly picturesque.
Made our way back to the main road and headed to Barcelona. Reached the city around 4pm where we checked into our hotel. It is in a great location just a block from the city´s largest collection of parks, right below the Olympic City. We wandered through it and at the top had a beautiful view of Gaudi´s Sagrada Familia cathedral. (Did you know Gaudi was killed when a tram hit him?! Just a fun fact for your day.)
Came back to the hotel where we are writing this on the hotel´s computer... we only get 30 minutes of free wifi in the room, so we want to use it when we can post pictures from the next few days.
Tonight we are heading out to explore the Barcelona nightlife!
