Gaudi's City

Woke up and took the metro to Plaça Catalunya, which is at the top of Las Ramblas. We walked the whole way down to the beach, but not without making a quick pit stop at Starbucks, per Kate's request because she wanted to have a Christmas cup. When we got to the beach, we saw a mix of every generation out enjoying the 23 degrees Celsius - surfers, bikers, joggers and some old timers playing dominos. We walked the entire length of the beach, ending at the strip of nightclubs and lounges where we had danced the night away at on Friday.

We enjoyed an artisanal pizza that we bought at a market near the pier. Then we made our way to the metro where we took it to Parc Güell, another ingenious design by Gaudi. We loved the mosaic tile work around the park and the fascinating rock and plant designs. One of the most impressive parks we've ever seen. We spent a few hours walking the pathways, while also taking in the views of the whole city.

Then we went to the Parc Joan Miro, but it really didn't compare... It was just one big statue.

Tomorrow, we are heading to
Madrid!
